BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Samuel 17:1-18:4, John 8:21-30, Psalm 111:1-10, Pro 15:11
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Job 1:8-12
8 And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
9 Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
12 And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

MFM Daily Devotional 15 May 2025 Message
Another great lesson to learn from the life of Job is that God sometimes allows pain in the life of believers, not necessarily because of sin or any bad thing they have done, but to show forth His glory. God does not tempt people with evil, but sometimes, he allows it not because he hates us or wants to break us, but solely because he wants to display His mighty acts through the life of such a believer. This is exactly what happened to the blind man in John 9:2-3.
The disciples had to inquire from the master about the root cause of his blindness. “And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who sinned, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.”

It is wise that the disciples enquired of Jesus why the man was born blind. If they had not asked, they would have been fighting the wrong battle and all to no avail. Once they knew it was God Himself who was behind the case, they could rest assured that He would do something about it.
Beloved, we need to learn the act of praying enquiry prayers to know the why and who behind the battles we are fighting, so that we will not be fighting as one that is beating the air. We must stop assuming that our battles are coming from certain people simply because those people don’t seem to like us physically. It is a costly assumption hence, we would be fighting the wrong people. What if it is God Himself orchestrating the battle, like the case of Job and the man who was born blind? Most of the battles we attribute to satan might not be coming from him at all. Have you enquired from God about your life’s battles? What if they are not caused by the people you had in your mind?
Also, we need to stop accepting the fact that every battle or pain we experience is from God. The majority of them are from the accusers of the brethren. But let us learn the art of enquiry prayers to enable us to direct our prayers to the right channels. May our prayer arrows not miss their targets in the name of Jesus.
