TOPIC: The Certainty Of God’s Promise
TEXT: Hebrews 6:13-20(NKJV)
STUDY: In our passage today we see that God is faithful to keep His promises. He fulfilled His promises to Abraham to bless and multiply his seed (Gen. 12.1-3) He also promised the children of Israel that He would settle them in the land of Canaan, and He did (Josh. 21.45).
God is true to His word. He sealed His promises to Abraham with an oath in own His name (v.13); His promises therefore are unchanging and trustworthy because He can never lie (vv. 17-18).
We are encouraged to wait for God’s timing even when our desires seem too urgent to wait any longer. Learn to wait on him because He does not fail. The fulfilment of God’s promises does not depend on our attitude but on His love and faithfulness. Our hope is in Jesus, who is our anchor in this turbulent world.
PRAYER: Almighty God, help me to ensure my anchor in Christ holds in the storms of life. Amen.
