Topic: In His Footsteps

TEXT: Acts 9:32-35
32 And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.

33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.

34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.

35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.

Key Verse: Acts 9:32
And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.

DCLM Daily Manna 3rd November 2021 MESSAGE:

MESSAGE: It is gratifying to note in today’s text that when the Lord concluded His work here in the world and went to heaven, He did not take away His virtues of fellowship and visitation. He deposited them in great measure with His disciples. His followers walked in His footsteps, showing love to the brethren by abandoning their comfort zones to visit them in their abodes.

As Apostle Peter left Jerusalem to check up on the brethren, he pleaded Jesus’ name to heal a man who had been bedridden for eight years. The miracle brought “all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron…to the Lord.” This demonstrated the limitless power and blessings inherent in visiting one another as believers.

The love of Christ for His own did not stop at the point of His crucifixion; He showed Himself to the disciples after His resurrection, treated and admonished them most lovingly. Likewise, the apostles continued in His footsteps as they showed love to other brethren by visiting them and performing signs and wonders.

The exit of the likes of Peter and the other apostles of the early church did not take away the power that followed them each time they toured the homes of members of the body of Christ. Also, the Lord did not annul the supernatural power in His name when He went back to His home. The disciples made maximum use of His name. It is our turn in this end time to stand on the platform Peter and other believers stood to bring believing souls in large numbers to our Lord. That platform is visitation. God is challenging us to renew our love for the brethren by visiting each other for spiritual and material edification.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Reach out and release God’s power.
