UK English teacher and worship leader, Emma Noonan, has just released her Christmas single ‘Prince of Peace’. The song, which was released on 21st October, is based on Isaiah Ch. 9 and draws on the central themes of light, hope and peace.

After releasing her debut album ‘Within the Silence’ in July, the second song on her album, ‘In Denial’, was put forward for the August Step Fwd UK Christian charts in the indie/folk section.

Emma’s music is a blend of alternative modern worship with a hint of Indie-folk. Some of Emma’s songs are deeply personal; others are reimagined from alternative perspective. Her lyrics are reflective; yet resolute and her melodies ambient; yet rhythmically determined.

Emma’s latest single, ‘Prince of Peace’ is no exception. The track begins with a low pad and broken piano chords, which reflect the gradual transition from darkness to light in the opening verse. The second chorus segues into a bold middle eight as it ascends towards the angelic choral harmonies before pulling back in the final verse. The song is a powerful reminder that, amidst a time of anxiety, conflict and suffering, there is hope in Jesus – the true Messiah, Prince of Peace.
