TOPIC: The Mind of Christ

SCRIPTURE:  We have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart. – 1 Corinthians 2:16 (AMPC)

Joyce Meyer Daily Devotional August 13, 2022

You and I have been given the mind of Christ-this is a promise straight from the Word of God. To begin to understand what that means, consider what Jesus’ mind was like when He lived on the earth. He was confident in Who He was.

He didn’t let the negativity of others distract Him. He was fully aware that He was loved by God. And He was focused on accomplishing God’s plan for His life.

Now take a moment to consider what thoughts occupy your mind. If you’re distracted by the opinions of others, if you get upset easily, or if your mind is full of doubt and unbelief, you are not yet experiencing all that God desires for your life. But things can change. God can renew your mind and bring you to a place of victory!

The renewal of the mind is a process that requires time, and it’s a process that the enemy aggressively fights against. It is important we purposely choose right thinking.

When we feel the battle for our mind is difficult, we can determine that, with God’s help, we are going to purposely choose life-generating thoughts.

The renewing of the mind takes place little by little, so don’t be discouraged if progress
seems slow. Take a stand and say, “I will never give up! God is on my side. He loves me, and He is helping me!”

Prayer Starter: Lord, I’m thankful that I choose right thinking. With Your help, I can change any negative thoughts that are affecting my life. I can win the battle of the mind by spending time in Your Word, meditating on Your promises, and making a conscious effort to think God-honoring thoughts over my life, amen.
