MFM Daily Devotional 10 March 2022 MESSAGE

Jesus died for every human being on the surface of the earth, irrespective of gender, race, colour, wealth, position, power, influence or authority (John 3:16).

The Great Commission instructs us to preach the gospel to every person in all the countries of the world (Matthew 28:18-20). As a result of the differences amongst human beings engendered by many factors, everyone cannot be reached using the same method.

This explains the wisdom of Apostle Paul in his approach to evangelism as explained in 1 Corinthians 9:15-24. He made himself everything to everybody in order to win them to Christ.
Similarly, when Jesus was queried for eating with tax collectors and sinners, he answered that it is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick, I have not come to call the righteous but sinners (Mark 2:17). (MFM Daily Devotional 10 March 2022 for Today)

Back in those days, tax collectors were considered corrupt and treacherous, yet Jesus went to them, spent time with them and shared a friendly meal with them. He did not overlook what they had done or what they had become. But in the moral ‘sickness’ of their sin, He offered them the healing of His friendship.

When we invite sinners to repentance and transformation through evangelism, we will make them amend their ways.

Zacchaeus, a corrupt man who had grown rich by cheating others, climbed a tree to see what this Jesus was all about. The Lord Himself chose to dine with him to the irritation of the more ‘righteous’ people in the crowd.

This loving invitation brought this corrupt tax collector to repentance and transformation –ready to make amends for his wrongdoings. The man that the others had considered an outcast was restored as a brother.

Beloved, if Jesus can do all these while on earth, what about you as a child of God? If the precious souls of people meant so much to Him that He could lay down His life to win them for the Father, then, the Great Commission must be of top priority to you.

The Lord will reward you as you witness and win souls for Him in this new year, in Jesus’ Name.
