MFM Daily Devotional 11 June 2021 – Guidelines For Growing In Godliness

MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR FRIDAY 11TH JUNE 2021 WRITTEN BY PASTOR D. K. OLUKOYA

TOPIC: GUIDELINES FOR GROWING IN GODLINESS

Fire Scripture: Titus 2:11-15

MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE:
Godliness is living a fruitful, obedient Christian life. It entails being focused on God, demonstrating the fear of God, the love of God and a burning desire for God. God commands us to shun ungodly and wordly attitudes and embrace righteous and godly living.

Godliness is impossible without being born again and depending on God’s grace. Godliness involves your eager readiness to do good works, being humble and peaceable in speech and never slanderous or argumentative. It also involves being subject and obedient to authority: civil, family, church and employers.

Do you truly desire to grow in godliness? You should do the following: walk in good works (Eph. 2:10), walk properly (Rom. 13:13), walk by faith (2 Cor. 5:7), walk in love (Eph. 5:2), walk as children of the light (Eph. 5:8), walk worthy of the Lord (Col. 1:10), walk worthy of our calling (Eph. 4:1), walk as Jesus walked (1 John 2:6).

In 1 Peter 1:3, the Bible affirms that God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of Him that called us to glory and virtue. Beloved, Jesus is coming soon. One of the outstanding attributes of those He will take home to be with Him is godliness.

2 Peter 3:10-12 affirms, “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?”

Godliness is a passport to heaven. Arm yourself with it!

Memory Verse: 1 Tim. 6:6 – “But godliness with contentment is great gain.”

Motivational Quote: “True godliness does not turn men out of the world, but enables them to live better in it and excites their endeavour to mend it.”

Prophetic Word: Receive the grace to grow in godliness,, in the name of Jesus.

HYMN More about Jesus would I know

1 More about Jesus would I know,
More of His grace to others show;
More of His saving fullness see,
More of His love who died for me.

Refrain:
More, more about Jesus,
More, more about Jesus;
More of His saving fullness see,
More of His love who died for me.

2 More about Jesus let me learn,
More of His holy will discern;
Spirit of God, my teacher be,
Showing the things of Christ to me. [Refrain]

3 More about Jesus in His Word,
Holding communion with my Lord;
Hearing His voice in ev’ry line,
Making each faithful saying mine. [Refrain]

4 More about Jesus on His throne,
Riches in glory all His own;
More of His kingdom’s sure increase;
More of His coming, Prince of peace. [Refrain]
