MFM Daily Devotional 15 November 2022 OUTLINE

The Bible affirms that our weapons of war are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). It is, however, disheartening that many believers are living in defeat, sickness, bondage, failure and despondency. They are ignorant of the weapons that heaven has freely provided to help them live as more than conquerors. One of such powerful weapons is the blood of Jesus. We would focus attention on this highly underutilised weapon and encourage believers to avail themselves of its potency, especially in these precarious and unfriendly days in human history.

The benefits of the blood that Jesus shed for you and me on the cross at Calvary are inestimable and far-reaching. First, the blood of Jesus earned us forgiveness from sin and its consequences, ransomed and saved us as well as justified us. Ephesians 1:7 says, “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.” Hebrews 9:28 says, “So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.” Hence, our debt is paid, once and for all. Romans 5:9 affirms that Christ’s blood earns us justification and spares us God’s judgement, “Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.”

Similarly, the blood of Jesus heals us. One day, even our flesh will be replaced with an incorruptible body. 1 Peter 2:24 affirms this, “…who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sin, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.” The same potent blood of the Lamb of God makes us spiritually alive. The Bible says, “Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you” (John 6:53). When we take the Holy Communion, we cross from death to life spiritually.

Beloved, I encouraged you to sing more choruses and hymns on the Blood of Jesus. Plead, sprinkle and applied it spiritually to the doorpost lintel of your life, home and all.
