MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TUESDAY 15TH JUNE 2021 WRITTEN BY PASTOR D.K OLUKOYA

TOPIC: THE BEAUTY OF HOLINESS

Fire Scripture: 1 Peter 2:9-10

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE:
God our Father, is holy and He wants us to be holy. He wants us to live a life that befits us as children of the kingdom. Holiness is to be set apart. In the Old Testament, holiness was generally connected with God’s perfection. When we believe in Jesus as Lord, He cleanses us from sin and makes us holy. In our Fire Scripture for today, we are called a holy nation and a chosen generation, therefore we are not to conform with the world.

All believers are set apart for God and His kingdom purposes. Beloved, as “a holy nation”, we are to reflect God’s glory and spread His message of salvation to the world. We are required to separate ourselves from ungodly behaviour and conduct, only then can we follow God’s righteous plans and purposes. The beauty of holiness is to be like God and to live a sanctified life so we can have a close personal relationship with Christ, fellowship with other Christians and devote ourselves to prayers.

Also it, gives us access to the things of God and to open heavens. It guarantees success in all that we do for God and His Kingdom. Beloved, God has not called us to uncleanness but unto holiness (1 Thess. 4:7). Without holiness no one shall see the Lord. Holiness is not the way to Christ; rather, Christ is the way to holiness. This is because only those who Christ saves and gives His righteousness to can be sanctified and holy.

So, anyone one who wants to satisfy God’s standard of holiness must first come to Christ. Every believer should therefore heed the admonition in 2 Corinthians 7:1, “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”

Memory Verse: Romans 6:22 – But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

Motivational Quote: Holy living brings down the favour of God

Prophetic Word: God shall make me a shining example of a holy Christian, in the name of Jesus.

HYMN: Called Unto Holiness

1. Called unto holiness,” Church of our God,
Purchase of Jesus, redeemed by His blood;
Called from the world and its idol to flee,
Called from the bondage of sin to be free.

Chorus
Holiness unto the Lord,” is our watchword and song,
“Holiness unto the Lord,” as we’re matching along:
Sing it, shout it, Loud and long
“Holiness unto the Lord,” now and forever.

2. “Called unto holiness,” children of light,
Walking with Jesus in garment of white;
Raiment unsullied, nor tarnished with sin,
God’s Holy Spirit abiding within.
