TOPIC: The Overcoming Blood of Jesus (III)
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Romans 6:11-18, Colossians 2:14-15
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

MFM Daily Devotional 16 January 2024 MESSAGE
The blood of Jesus Christ gives us victory over all sins, addictions and unrighteousness. A lot of people are battling one addiction or the other over which they have prayed but it is to no avail. Some have been held bound by the power of sin and iniquity. Some have given their lives to Christ but still fall into certain sins. For instance, the spirit of lust or anger could be holding so much to a person that until he or she sins, he would not be at rest. Such has become a stronghold.
Apostle Paul experienced such too in Romans 7:14-25, but he overcame it. You too can overcome the sin holding you to ransom by applying the blood of Jesus to your heart frequently. Don’t forget that all sins emanate from the heart. So, we must bring every imagination to the obedience of Christ by the blood of Jesus.

Sin should not have dominion over us because Jesus was revealed to destroy this work of the devil. Mrs C.H Morris puts it well in this verse of one of her hymns; “In the name of Israel’s God we’ll onward press, Overcoming sin and all unrighteousness; Not to us, but unto him the praise shall be, For salvation and for blood-bought victory.”
Also, we overcome all forms of sicknesses by the blood of Jesus. “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” – (Isaiah 53:5). Healing and perfect health are our kingdom heritage. Jesus came to save, heal and deliver.
Therefore, we must always apply the blood of Jesus to our health. We can drink the blood of Jesus by faith every day. Also, we can command our bodies to be whole by taking the holy communion worthily. There is healing power in the blood of Jesus.
Also, as blood-bought believers, our protection is guaranteed by the blood of Jesus. No evil can come near when we live under the sheltering blood of Jesus. Lastly, we overcome the devil by the blood of the Lamb. I pray that when the devil sees the blood of Jesus, he will pass us over in the name of Jesus. Shalom!
