TOPIC: Lessons From The Life of Bartimaeus (III)

MEMORY VERSE: John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES: Darkness is not only the absence of light but also the absence of God.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY: I command the life of God to fill and permeate every area of your life, in the name of Jesus.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Luke 18:35-43

The fifth lesson for us in this biblical event is that Bartimaeus’ request was just one — specific, direct and clear. When he got to Jesus and was asked what he wanted, Bartimaeus did not stammer. His request did not contradict his earlier cry and prayer point. He said, “That I may receive my sight.” When you go to God in prayer, always make your request or prayer point specific and clear. As someone put it, “I want to buy blood tonic is not the same as when you specify the particular brand and type you want.”

The sixth lesson is that Jesus only spoke and light appeared in the darkness in Bartimaeus’ life. Jesus said, “Receive thy sight: thy faith hath made thee whole.” The Bible affirms that the blind man immediately received his sight! The same Jesus spoke to the storm and it became still. He spoke to death and it released Lazarus. He spoke to demons and they obeyed Him. Beloved, Jesus will speak to any unpleasant situation in your life today (joblessness, financial challenge, marital delay, barrenness, business challenge, health problem, etc) and your miracle will appear, in the name of Jesus.

The seventh is that upon receiving his sight, Bartimaeus followed Christ glorifying God. Beloved, what we do after receiving divine visitation or miracle matters to heaven. Our attitude should be like that of Bartimaeus who was full of gratitude to God. He followed Jesus and made the whole world to know the One who turned his life around. He worshiped, praised, and glorified God who turned his night to day.

This attitude is essential in making our miracles permanent. It will also open the heavens for more miracles in our lives. Bartimaeus’ action made all the people to also give praise to God. I pray that you will have a life-changing encounter with the Miracle Worker today and all people will glorify God for your sake, in the name of Jesus.

Beloved, the Bible says that the things that are written in the Scripture are for our learning. I encourage you to apply the important lessons drawn from Bartimaeus’ life-changing encounter with Jesus to your life. Your joy will be full, in Jesus’ name.
