MFM Daily Devotional 20th February 2022 MESSAGE

Courage is a virtue that all children of God should possess. It is the ability to do something that frightens others. It is strength in the face of pain and grief. Quite a lot of situations will definitely come your way to discourage or distract you. They may come in any facet of life. They could be related to situations that bring about dejection, depression, disappointment, despondency, hopelessness, lack of enthusiasm, despair, gloom and low spirit.

The environment and situation around us now is so full of discouragement, but you have to encourage yourself in the Lord. The devil has the mandate to ensure that the children of God do not succeed in life (Revelation 12:12).

Your spouse or children could discourage you like the case of Job. The wife of Job knew that Job was a man that feared God and kept His commandment with high respect; yet in the day of adversity and want, she told him to curse God and die (Job 2:9).

Your pastor or mentor can discourage you because they are human beings. Your family members, neighbours, boss or associates may discourage you directly or indirectly. You may be going through a lot now, but bear it in mind that the devil’s aim is to make sure you do not reach your goal and succeed in life.

Do not be discouraged or weary; just have faith in God and believe in His words. When Jesus was faced with the devil’s lies and temptations, He countered them with the truth of God’s word. The spoken word of God is a powerful sword in our mouth (Hebrews 4:12) and if Jesus depended upon it to face challenges in life, you too can.

Look forward to the crown waiting for you after this present realm; be courageous, be strong, and note that the Bible says, “Christ in you is the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27).
