Repentance means a change of mind or a feeling of remorse or regret for past actions. It is godly sorrow for sin, an act of turning around and going in the opposite direction. It involves a confession of past sins and the decision not to go back to them. Repentance also means turning away from sin, disobedience or rebellion and turning back to God.
Have you repented? If yes, have you totally turned back? Repentance is turning from wickedness and dead works.
A soul that has genuinely repented will bear some fruits by the help of the Holy Spirit. Such fruits include love; faith, self-control, patience, and so on. Men ought to pray and not to faint. A repentant soul prays always in season and out of season.
You no longer have to cheat or deceive others you are dealing with. Whether they are Christians or not, you have to be honest. Other fruits of repentance include righteousness, joy and peace, as the Spirit of God comes upon you. The fruits of repentance go along with manifestations such as gentleness and goodness. Do you tell the truth always or do you still tell lies? You have to make a U-turn today. Walk in love today, and decide to show forth your fruits to impact lives and the world. By your fruits, people will know you have repented.
There is no good fruit without repentance. Repentance is the gateway to holiness. When you choose to follow Jesus, you must also make up your mind to maintain an attitude of repentance. God builds holiness in us, the earthly reward of true repentance is the manifestation of the fruits. Genuine repentance must be coupled with restitution.
