MFM Daily Devotional 6 December 2021

In the last two days, we have discussed why it is important for believers to put on the whole armour of God. We will conclude that discussion today. It is disheartening to note that many Christians are just going in circles, making little or no progress in life.

Such Christians do not have their whole armour in place. They are making considerable efforts without commensurate progress. The enemy is subjecting them to wasted efforts as well as to wander about and waste time doing things without achieving expected results. Those unpleasant experiences are due to the fact that the victims are vulnerable. The way out is to put on the whole armour of God as well as to master the use of each of them.

You need the spiritual armour to fight against temptation (James 4: 7), false doctrines (2 John 1: 9-10), carelessness (Luke 21: 34), compromise (Isaiah 52: 11), backsliding (Hebrews 10: 38), prayerlessness (1 Thessalonians 5: 17), discouragement (Galatians 6: 9), satanic influences (Ephesians 6: 12). Believers are reminded of the triumph of Christ over Satan, sin, sickness and death, which hitherto enslaved mankind. As Christians, we must not forget we are called to the highest and most glorious vocation.

We can only express our appreciation of that privilege by walking worthy of it through practical demonstration of piety. A sound disposition anchored on true love and unity of spirit among us is a reflection of this worthy walk. Put on the whole armour of God. True Christians measure their progress by their proximity to Christ. Go and win.

Beloved, as believers, when we obey the Lord and put on His whole armour , we present ourselves to the world correctly as His soldiers and ambassadors. We will also be able to confront and conquer Satan and his cohorts, populate God’s kingdom and depopulate hell. We are called to demonstrate God’s power, signs and wonders.

We will achieve this and more when we are clothed with His power and armed with His armour!

Motivational Quote
God does not require a multitude to win a battle.

Prophetic Word
The Egyptian you see today, you shall see them no more forever, for the Lord shall arise and fight for you, in the name of Jesus.

Hymn: Who is on the Lord’s side?

1. Who is on the Lord’s side?
Who will serve the King?
Who will be His helpers,
Other lives to bring?
Who will leave the world’s side?
Who will face the foe?
Who is on the Lord’s side?
Who for Him will go?
By Thy call of mercy,
By Thy grace divine,
We are on the Lord’s side,
Saviour, we are Thine.

2. Not for weight of glory,
Not for crown and palm,
Enter we the army,
Raise the warrior psalm;
But for love that claimeth
Lives for whom He died;
He whom Jesus nameth
Must be on His side.
By Thy love constraining
By Thy grace divine,
We are on the Lord’s side,
Saviour, we are Thine.
