TOPIC:  The Greatest Sacrifice (I)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Deuteronomy 25, Deuteronomy 27, Deuteronomy 28:1-14, Luke 17:11-37, Psalm 46:1-11

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Romans 5:6-10 (KJV)
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

MEMORY VERSE: “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” – 1 John 2:2

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES:
No other blood is as powerful as the blood of Jesus, which He shed on the cross at Calvary, the greatest sacrifice that negates every other sacrifice.

Take praise and worship songs as led by the Holy Spirit.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
I decree that by the power in the blood of Jesus, every evil sacrifice raised against you is hereby nullified and cancelled, in the name of Jesus.

MFM Daily Devotional April 16, 2022 MESSAGE

There are sacrifices and there are sacrifices. However, there is a sacrifice that surpasses every other sacrifice. This sacrifice not only has the power to swallow other sacrifices, but also to cancel, nullify, negate, reverse and render powerless every verdict, decree and other negative pronouncement that are unfavourable to the life and destiny of the person for whose sake it was offered.

Sacrifice, by human definition, is an act performed for the sake of a person. It could come in form of help or a performance done under a religious regulation, bound by an oath, or evil pronouncements invoked to back up the act in the spiritual realm. Commonly seen or heard of are rituals or sacrifices done with animals and birds, pouring of libations in the worship of idols. Even the Bible talks of the making of cakes for the worship of the queen of heaven in the book of Jeremiah.

God gave the regulations of worship to Moses and the children of Israel. The High Priest went into the Holy of holies once in a year for the atonement of sins of the children of Israel. He would first do his own atonement before proceeding to offer sacrifices on behalf of the people. As a result, it was easy for men to fall in and out of sin. This repetitive human performance was not the best antidote for our sins. Imagine if, as Christians, we are still bound to performance of numberless sacrifices! God, in His sovereignty thought of a permanent performance: a once and for all solution — the death of Jesus on the Cross!

This is the Greatest Sacrifice! We no longer need to do or perform any other sacrifice because He entered once into the Holy of holies; He shed His blood and made His life a sacrifice as well as a ransom for us. Not only has He paid our sins through His death, we have been brought closer to God.

The price of my sins and yours was paid. The currency is His Blood. His Blood still speaks for us, pleading our case and defending our cause. That sacrifice was born out of love! Thank You Jesus!
