Our possessions as children of God are multifaceted. When we consider Genesis 1:26, we can see an aspect of our possession – dominion. In other words, it is God’s will for us to be in charge. This is so important that God also made it a point of His blessing to Abraham and his children (Genesis 22:17). Moses blessed the children of Israel in the name of the Lord and said in Deuteronomy 28:13:

And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail, and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them.

Why this topic “Possess your possession” when possession is already at the person’s disposal? This is particularly a puzzle when we consider Genesis 1:26. The truth of the matter is that man lost this possession to sin and the devil, according to the account of the fall in Genesis 3. Thus, it has to be repossessed. To do this, man needed Someone more powerful than the devil. Glory to God, Jesus came to our rescue. The Bible says: For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9.

To access the blessing above, you must be a Kingdom child. To be a Kingdom child requires a truly repentant heart and acceptance of Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. This connects you with the True Vine in whom you would begin to bear the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance) as we see in Galatians 5:22- 23 and the fruit of souls that will abide in the Kingdom of God (John 15:16). This is the path towards possessing your possessions (Matthew 6:33) and accessing everlasting life (John 3:16). Walk in it.

Bible In One Year: Leviticus 11-13

Hymn 21 Standing on The Promises Of Christ My King

1 Standing on the promises of Christ, my King,
Through eternal ages let his praises ring;
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain:
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God, my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.

2 Standing on the promises that cannot fail.
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]

3 Standing on the promises of Christ, the Lord,
Bound to him eternally by love’s strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
Standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]

4 Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
List’ning ev’ry moment to the Spirit’s call,
Resting in my Savior as my all in all,
Standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]

Prayer Point: Father, give me the grace to possess my possessions, in Jesus name.
