MFM Daily Devotional 21 May 2025 Message
Fear is a spirit that is seated in many lives. On many occasions, fear wins the victory over people’s faith. People who are defeated by fear are defeating God’s love for their lives. This can result in a terrible and dangerous situation. Some of the sleeplessness that people experience, as well as anger, bitterness, envy, and spiritual paralysis, can be traced to the problem of fear.
In our text, Job said, “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.”
This statement implies that even before Job’s calamities befell him, he had been nursing the fear that things might turn upside down for him, and they actually did. Even when he was in great wealth, he was visualizing failure; he was worried his wealth might go down, and the very thing he was afraid of eventually became his lot. May fear not have a place in our hearts, in the name of Jesus.

Beloved, fear is a terrible spirit that has held many in captivity through the ages. It is a tool the devil uses to cage and destroy lives. Fear has no respect for age, status, or nationality. It torments its victims and leads to untimely death.
A person who is doing well in business will be afraid that the business could fail. A student who is facing an examination would be afraid of failure. A president would be afraid of a coup or that he would not win the election. Many musicians also fear that their music may not sell. Many pregnant women are afraid of miscarriage and all kinds of things. There are all kinds of fear haunting people, but the trouble with fear is that it makes somebody a candidate for destruction. A lot of people are afraid of what the future holds, forgetting that God has got our futures in the palm of His hands. He has us covered, so there’s nothing to fear.
Once you begin to fear, you are breaking God’s law, which says, “Fear not.” Fear can kill and cause confusion. It can also cause discouragement as well as bring the spirit of suicide upon a person. All these things are ancient robbers, and anybody who has them must throw them into the fire by the resurrection power of our Lord Jesus Christ.
