MFM Daily Devotional 1 September 2023 MESSAGE
What does it mean to wait upon the Lord? It is the art of waiting through fasting and prayers, reading of the word of God, and other spiritual channels through which a child of God can seek the face of God on particular issues of concern, with the hope of receiving solutions to problems and troubled situations.
Waiting upon the Lord is a completely spiritual activity, not physical, but one that requires patience, faith, long-suffering and self-control, all of which are part of the components of the fruit of the Spirit. These are necessary ingredients during the period of waiting, as you keep asking, seeking and knocking the door of heaven until God responds. Oftentimes, He does it as He so desires, not of you but of God who makes things beautiful at His own time. This implies that you can’t afford to be impatient. God cannot be manipulated!

The beautiful part of this kind of waiting is that though the time of manifestation is unknown, God takes time to work through the one who is waiting, to bring out a better person and a glorious situation. The Bible states that whoever waits upon Him shall never be put to shame (Ps. 25:3). This is our consolation and our hope. You’re expected to hold on to hope and believe that He that has promised will perform it. He never fails!
We shall begin to look at the benefits that you can have while waiting upon the Lord. You will not only advance physically but also experience a higher level of spiritual strength and maturity. Beloved, it pays to wait upon the Lord, seeking His face concerning your situation. As you continue to believe and exercise unyielding faith, your expectations shall not be cut off. It shall end in praise, in Jesus’ name.

MORNING:
1. I cast off every manifestation of the spirit of impatience in my life, in the name of Jesus.
2. O God, arise and baptise me with the Spirit of patience and long-suffering, in the name of Jesus.
3. Grace to wait till my appointed day comes, come upon me now, in the name of Jesus.
