BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Sam 13:1-39, John 17:1-26, Psalm 119:81-96, Pro 16:6-7

FIRE SCRIPTURE:  Ephesians 2:4-10
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Titus 2:11

MFM Daily Devotional 28 May 2025 Message

Our salvation experience is not a call to struggle with God’s will. It is not a call to be at the mercy of our environment and emotions. Our salvation experience is a call to a higher life, the restoration of the kind of life that was lost in Eden—the life of God. It is a life higher than the diminishing elements of this world.

It is impossible to save yourself because you cannot please God. You do not have the capacity to please God. Apostle Paul noted in Romans 3:23, that “All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” You may be wondering, “How have all men sinned?” The Bible says, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (Romans 5:12).

As a result of Adam’s sin, we are all in a state of helplessness and do not have the capacity to stand before God or even please Him. There is a virus in our system that is making us do the things we do not want to do; there is a wall of partition between us and our God.

There is good news, however. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” You are saved by grace and grace alone.

Now, what is grace? The word “grace” simply means free and undeserved favor, especially from God; unmerited divine assistance given to humans for their regeneration or sanctification and for resisting sin. The scripture says, “…God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

Hallelujah! What a glorious assurance! When next the devil comes questioning you, trying to put doubts in your mind about the validity of your salvation, reply with this scripture: “Christ died for me while I was yet a sinner. He saved me for free. Hallelujah!!”
