TOPIC:  Your Breakthrough Is Near!

TEXT: HEBREWS 10:35-38
35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

KEY VERSE
“For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry”
(Hebrews 10:37).

DCLM Daily Manna Monday 1 January 2024 MESSAGE

It was Thomas Fuller, a 17th century English theologian, who stated, “It is always darkest before the day dawneth”. This statement implies that situations often witness a positive turnaround just when they seem to be at the worst stage. A new ray of hope is lit, and unfolding events begin to heal the debilitating effect of the dark times. God’s special intervention often begins when we reach our wits’ end. Despite the challenging situations around us, this New Year offers boundless hope and possibilities for us.

There are important instructions in today’s text for believers who desire a breakthrough this New Year. They are to hold on tenaciously to their confidence in God’s unfailing promises; wait patiently after doing God’s will and remain steadfast in the faith while waiting for the fulfilment of His promises. In the text, the possibility of delayed answers to prayers for believers is pitched against the infallibility of God’s promises. In all, believers are counselled to look not too far any longer as their breakthrough is near. Complaining, drooping and backsliding should not be one of the believer’s considerations nor the solution to the delay in answering their prayers.

Keep in mind that in our day-to-day life, there may arise tense and trying times when it seems God is far away or is not listening to our prayers. Circumstances around us may seem hopeless. Trusted friends and those who have hitherto been sympathetic to our cause may disappoint us. Challenges may keep pouring in and we may seem not to have ready solutions to them. The human in us may want to resign to fate; yet, the Lord wants us to trust Him more because these are signs that heaven’s help is at the corner. This New Year is one with a difference for you. Put your confidence in God with full assurance that the breakthrough you desire will surely come to pass.

Always remember that when you have prayed, completely obeyed God and it seems as if the answer to your prayer is not forthcoming, the miracle may, in reality, be by the door. When it seems you have reached your limits and all human efforts seem not to be working in your favour, wait patiently in faith. Be assured that God is set to intervene in your matter. Your breakthrough is near!

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Something great happens when our faith meets God’s faithfulness.
