DCLM Daily Manna Monday MESSAGE

When Satan completed his attack on Job by orchestrating the death of all his children after wiping out his businesses, he expected his victim to blaspheme and contradict the verdict of God that the man was “perfect and… upright… one that feareth God, and eschewed evil”; but this saint of old remained unmoved in his faith in God. Instead, he worshipped the Lord.

Job was not privy to what or who was behind the strange and calamitous occurrences overwhelming him and his household. He was more concerned about proving God right by weighing his utterances and actions so they do not vindicate the devil. He was focused on preserving his spotless affinity with his God. The Bible says, “In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly”.

Heaven-bound pilgrims being buffeted by evil personalities should not be swayed by what the enemy says concerning them. They should desist from running from pillar to post for a solution to those travails. As believers, we should know the origin of the assaults on our souls and the way out. The Scripture says, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: [but Christ has] come that [we] might have life… more abundantly” (John 10:10).

God stands by when His followers are oppressed by the enemy. He is constantly urging us not to blaspheme but to hold on to our holiness and faith in Him. This is what would give us eventual victory. Satan, who instigates all our troubles, is also a spectator, as he was when the winds of adversity threatened to destroy Job. We must not disappoint the Lord. For our travails in this life have a short shelf life. They will fade away.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Holding on to God during trials brings triumph.
