DCLM Daily Manna Thursday 6 March 2025 Message

Without controversy, God’s power over all human problems is limitless. Barrenness, to some, is one of those challenging reproductive health conditions. In some climes, it attracts ridicule, suspicion, separation or even divorce in marriages. But the Scripture tells us that with God all things are possible. Of all the cases of barrenness mentioned in the Bible, only one died childless because she misused her tongue against her husband, the anointed of the Lord.

Those who may be barren or delay childbearing should not despair. God has not forgotten them. Although modern medical science such as the less-reliable IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) procedures has relieved many, this is still incomparable to God’s perfect and precise interventions. The Scripture says, “And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken” (Genesis 21:1). That God has not changed.

Today’s passage is a testament to God’s immutability, sovereignty and intervention in all “impossible” human cases. The angel’s visit to Manoah’s family at this auspicious time in Israel was an act of divine benevolence. After experiencing years of barrenness, the wife of Manoah was promised a son, a Nazarite who would be a deliverer to Israel.

It is also instructive to note the request by his parents for guidance on training the special child. Manoah and his wife believed in God’s word. But they probed further to know how to raise the son. It shows that visions, revelations and promises of God do not negate God’s demand for uprightness, and godliness in character. Parents should be committed to raising their kids in the way of the Lord.

This narrative thus assures us that whatever challenge may be going on in any family, the Lord is willing and ready to intervene and bring an end to the reproach and discomfort. When we pray, exercise faith, and obey His word, the Lord will make our homes like heaven on earth.
