TOPIC:  Don’t Limit God

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Kings 12, 2 Kings 13, 2 Kings 14, Matthew 7, Matthew 8

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 1 Kings 19:13-18
13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?

14 And he said, I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.

15 And the Lord said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria:

16 And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room.

17 And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay.

18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

“Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.”

Psalms 78:41

MFM Daily Devotional 18 April 2024 Message

What does it mean to limit God? To limit God means believing that there are impossibilities with God. That is, you believe that there are certain things that God cannot do. Look at what Matthew 19:26 says, “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” It says that with God, all things are possible.

It simply means that God can do all things. And I want you to know this before you read further: anyone who limits God does that to his own peril. James 1:6-8 says, “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.”

Limiting God is a very serious matter. Don’t bother praying to God or relating with Him if you cannot trust Him fully. Doubting the ability of God to do anything will make you an enemy of God. Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” The first thing that qualifies you to receive anything from God is faith that He is able to do it.

Beloved, what is that problem or difficulty that you are facing and it looks as if there is no solution for you? What is that mountain before you that looks unsurmountable? I want you to know that there is nothing impossible for God to do. God’s ability to do is unlimited because He is the Lord who is strong and mighty (Psalm 24:8) and all power belongs to Him (Psalm 62:11).

1. O Lord, my Father, let the world know that You are my God, in the name of Jesus.
2. Any situation assigned to make me doubt God, receive a solution by fire, in the name of Jesus.
3. Father Lord, let all my stubborn pursuers perish in the Red sea, in the name of Jesus.

4. Father Lord, empower me to beat the best and be the best in every area of my life, in the name of Jesus.
5. My Father, arise and put my stubborn enemies to shame, in the name of Jesus.
6. My life and family shall be a testimony that I serve a living God, in the name of Jesus.
7. O God, change my story to glory, in the name of Jesus.
