TOPIC: Dwellers in God’s Presence

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Job 24; Job 25; Job 26; Acts 8; Acts 9

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Psalm 27:1-6
27 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.

For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.

Cast me not away from your presence; and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.
Psalm 51:11

MFM Daily Devotional 2 June 2024 MESSAGE

God’s presence is an awesome place to dwell. The Bible talks about men of old like Moses, Joseph, and David who experienced the presence of God with great manifestations and blessings. Moses exclaimed that if God’s presence wouldn’t go with him, he wouldn’t proceed. This is an indication that without His presence, man is empty and unable to accomplish any great thing. Accompanied by divine presence, Moses did great exploits in Israel.

Joseph had a testimony all through his sojourn in the strange land. From Potiphar’s house to the prison and eventually to the palace, it was said that God was with him” No wonder that the evil intention of Mrs Potiphar in sending him to prison because he refused to commit immorality became the platform to his greatness. The prison prepared him for the palace where he became the Prime Minister in Egypt. All these happened because he carried the presence of God with him. The favour of God enveloped him; hence, he easily attracted the favour of man, even of Pharaoh at that time in history.

David was called in scriptures, “the man after God’s heart”. That is, the man in whom God delights. The mark of God was upon him. Therefore, it was difficult for the hand of men to prevail over him (Psalm 27:1-2). Daniel and his friends became untouchable in the land of Babylon because they were dwellers in God’s presence. They were committed to prayers and following the way of holiness. They do not indulge in any sin or whatever could defile them. They were friends of God and enemies of the world. Like the apostle Paul, they carry the mark of God and no evil power could trouble them. God is looking for men and women who can be so outstanding for Him, not conforming with the world.

When a man dwells in God’s presence, he becomes a carrier of His glory and power. He becomes a terror to his enemies. He achieves uncommon things and does exploits for God. He is bold not proud, holy and hates sin. Do you want to be a dweller of His presence? You must have pure heart and holy hands. In God’s presence, there is fullness of joy and pleasure forevermore. These and more shall be your portion, in Jesus’ name.

1. My Father, make me a dweller in Your presence, in the name of Jesus.

2. Anything assigned to drive me away from the presence of God, die now, in the name of Jesus.
3. Grace to be a dweller of His secret place, come upon me now, in the name of Jesus.

4. O Lord, in Your presence, give me the fullness of joy, in the name of Jesus.

5. I receive pleasure forever, as I abide in God’s presence, in the name of Jesus.
6. The mark of touch not my anointed from God, rest upon my forehead and preserve me from all evil, in the name of Jesus.
7. O Lord my Father, make me a terror to my strong enemies because I carry Your presence and power, in the name of Jesus.
