MFM Daily Devotional 2 October 2023 MESSAGE

In the kingdom of God, it takes the diligent discharge of the human role and the supernatural role for miracles and great works to take place. God has given man some abilities, power and grace to do certain things on his own. However, there are some things that are beyond human ability; only God can do them. Someone said that God will not do for man what He has given him the ability to do.

I agree with that person. It is also true that where human ability stops, God’s inexhaustible power begins to operate. Nothing is impossible for Him. It is your responsibility as a believer to know what God wants you to do and do it faithfully. Then, God will step in and do those things that He alone can do to help you and give you testimonies. He is ever faithful.

As a believer, what roles are you supposed to play before God steps in to do the supernatural? First, you have to believe that all power in heaven and on earth belongs to God and that He can do all things, including the things that you cannot do. This faith on your part will provoke divine intervention and the miraculous. In Matthew 9:28, the Bible records that two blind men went to Jesus, crying, “Have mercy on us, Son of David.” Jesus asked them a question, “Believe ye that I am able to do this?” They said to Him. “Yea, Lord.” Then Jesus touched their eyes and said, “According to thy faith be it unto you.” The Bible affirms that their eyes were opened immediately. You will notice that the blind men played their role of exercising faith in Jesus’ miracle-working power before He stepped in to restore their sight.

In contrast, the Bible reveals that when Jesus went to His native town (Nazareth), He could not do many mighty works because of the people’s unbelief (Matthew 13:56: Mark 6:5).
Beloved, Mary believed the message of the angel of God to her and said, “…Be it unto me according to thy word.” There was a performance and she received a great miracle (Luke 1:38 and 45). Faith often precedes miracles and is usually a condition for its accomplishment. One important part you are to play is to have faith in God.
