MFM Daily Devotional 22 January 2024 MESSAGE
If we go back a bit to the book of Genesis 25:23-26, Jacob had started his fight with his twin brother Esau right from the womb. They fought before they were born and even started fighting after they were born, and Jacob took his brother’s position and blessings.
This made Rebekah to advise Jacob to go to his uncle’s place in Haram when it was made known to Rebekah that Esau threatened to kill Jacob (Genesis 27:1-2). When Jacob ran away, he entered into a bigger problem in the house of his uncle, Laban. Laban cheated him, defrauded him, changed his wages ten times and restricted his movements.
Laban didn’t want him to go, for the Bible says in Gen. 30:27, “And Laban said into him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry; for I have learned by experience that the Lord hath blessed me for thy sake.” So, Laban was telling him, “I am enjoying the use of your glory.
Why do you want to go? Let me continue to give you a token so you can serve me more.” I decree by the thunder fire of God, the powers using your glory to make a profit while you are suffering, let thunder waste them, in the name of Jesus.
There are many people in life, who think they have escaped from one problem, but they enter into a more terrible one, ‘from frying pan to fire’. That was what Jacob’s problem could be likened to. When he was leaving home, he didn’t know that he would meet a greater fraudster in the person of Laban, his uncle.
One day as Laban went to a neighboring town to shear his sheep, Jacob again ran away with his wives and children. The journey he made in three days, it took Laban seven days to catch up with him. He knew then that he needed prayers.
1. My Father, arise and have mercy upon me, in the name of Jesus.
2. Any power closing good doors against me, I use your life to open those doors, in the name of Jesus.
3. O God, the Story Changer, change my story, in the name of Jesus.
4. Any evil family pattern speaking against my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
5. Whenever I go, I shall see God, in the name of Jesus.
6. O God, arise and remove me from the land of affliction, in the name of Jesus.
7. Powers oppressing me, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.
