FIRE SCRIPTURE: 2 Corinthians 6:14-18
MEMORY VERSE: Ephesians 5:8
“For ye were sometimes darkness, but now ye are light in the Lord: walk as children of light.”
MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE: It is hard when I have to, and so easy when I want to.
PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY: Power and grace to walk faithfully with God shall come upon you, in the name of Jesus.
In our devotional today, we will look at individual walk with God as Christians. To walk with God means you are going somewhere with Him. God has given you a guide to walk with Him in His word. Around you, you have a great cloud of witnesses who have walked with God either in your community or in the word of God. To start your walk with God, you must be born again and have faith in His word.
To grow in your walk with God, you need to read the Bible everyday. You must talk to Him from your heart by faith, believing He hears and sees everything going on in your heart, mind and mouth. Make sure you maintain harmony between what you think and what you say as you talk to God in all sincerity (Hebrews 4:12-13).
Be careful not to allow your flesh to go against the Spirit; let your thoughts be in line with the word of God, do not be conformed to the thoughts and ideas of this world (Romans 12:2). Endeavour to spend more time with the word of God, so that God can continue to instruct, correct and teach you. Be a doer of the word of God.
Obey every command and meditate on every promise and also pray that they come to pass in your life. Make Jesus your close friend and confidant. Talk to Him as often as possible everyday. Rejoice in His presence and ask for His help anytime you have any difficult. Also learn to fellowship with other true believers. You can ask questions and share your opinions. As this becomes part of your life, you will become more confident and happier walking with God.
Finally, be involved in God’s work. Partner with God in building His kingdom. Use the gifts, talents and resources that He has given you to serve Him and others. Make doing His will your priority everyday, no matter the cost.
Befriend the Holy Spirit and follow His leading all the time. A close walk with God is both desirable and rewarding!
1. O Lord, order my steps to walk in Your ways, in the name of Jesus.
2. Lord, take me to higher ground in my walk with You, in the name of Jesus.
3. O Lord, make my life fertile and fruitful, in the name of Jesus.
4. I cancel and clear every roadblock in my walk with God, in the name of Jesus.
5. O Lord , let Your glory overshadow my life, in the name of Jesus.
6. Fire of God, consume every evil attachment in my journey with God, in the name of Jesus.
7. O God, give me speed in my walk with You, in the name of Jesus.
