TOPIC: Reward of Faithful Worship

FIRE SCRIPTURE:  Mathew 8:1-4
When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.

And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

MFM Daily Devotional 4 January 2024 MESSAGE

There are tremendous benefits that come with worship. When a believer connects to God through true worship, he or she will be bountifully blessed. Let us examine some of the benefits that believers get when they worship God in truth and spirit. The first is the peace of God. In 2 Thessalonians 3:16, the Bible describes God as the God of all peace. In Bible terms, peace is not just the absence of conflict; it means completeness, soundness and welfare. It is complete wellness in every area and being without deficiency or lack. When you devote your life to worshipping God, the only source of peace, you will experience His peace which is different from the peace of the world (John 14:27).

The second benefit of worship is deliverance from torment. In the Old Testament, when King Saul was being tormented by an evil spirit, David would take the harp and play it and the tormenting spirit would depart from Saul (1 Samuel 16:23). This shows that worship is a powerful weapon against the enemy’s torment. Are you in any kind of bondage or you are being tormented by any malevolent spirit? I advise you to give God quality worship constantly. He will break your gates of brass, cut your bars of iron in sunder and you will be free.

The third benefit of worship is that it provokes divine intervention. In 2 Chronicles 20, when Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah were confronted by the combined forces of enemy nations with soldiers that far outnumbered theirs and they were at their wits’ end, God spoke through a prophet and told them to worship Him. They did, saying, “For the Lord is good and His mercy endures forever.” God intervened and the soldiers of the enemies turned against one another and were destroyed.

Similarly, in Matthew 8:1-3, a leper who was contaminated, ill, rejected, impure and incurable went to Jesus. The first thing he did was to worship Jesus. Then he said, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” The Bible says that Jesus’ response was positive: He touched the leper and said, “I will; be thou clean.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Worship also orchestrates open heavens, changes bad season to good season and brings down God’s glory. It pays great dividends.
