MFM Daily Devotional 6th June 2021 Outline

One of the most important assignments you have as a Christian is prayer. God is a Spirit. Prayer is a mysterious spiritual weapon that makes the devil to tremble. Your walk with God as a Christian can only succeed if you are prayerful.

If prayer was the cornerstone of Jesus’ successful ministry on earth, then you really need it. Prayer is indispensable in our relationship with God. Those who do not pray will be victims of spiritual oppression and attacks. As a Christian, you must know that you are in a constant warfare and there is no demilitarised zone. Jesus told one of His beloved disciples, ” Simon, Simon, behold satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: but I have prayed for thee…”(Luke 22: 31- 32).

Satan is always monitoring and waiting to pull Christians down, especially those who are making impact. It is only prayer that can stop him. Samuel Chadwick, the English poet observed rightly,” Satan laughs at our toiling, mocks our wisdom, but trembles when we pray.” This is why prayer is very important.

Prayer is necessary because it leads to Christian growth and maturity. The more you pray, the more you know and the more of God’s mystery is made clear to you. Furthermore, the more you pray, the more of satan you know. A prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian.

Prayer has several other benefits. You need to know and gain each of them: It takes you to God’s presence (2 Chro. 30:27). It strengthens your angel to fight for you (Dan. 10:11-13). It cleanses and sanctifies you spiritually (1Tim. 4:5). It can heal you when you are sick (James 5:14 -15). It can wipe off the record of evil dreams and enforce your good dreams to manifest (Matt. 18:18).

It can change the mind of God (2 Kings 20: 1-5). It empowers you over the elements (1 Kings 17:1; 18: 41-45). Now that you have learnt the awesomeness of prayer, wouldn’t you pray without ceasing?

Motivational Quote

A consistent prayer life gives you confidence, boldness and security. This is because God has you covered.

Prophetic Word
Your prayer time shall continue to be a time of refreshing, in the name of Jesus.

Sweet hour of prayer

1.Sweet hour of prayer, sweet hour of prayer,
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known:
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief,
And oft escaped the temter’s snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer.

2. Sweet hour of prayer, sweet hour of prayer,
Thy wings shall my petition bear
To Him whose truth and faithfulness
Engage the waiting soul to bless:
And since He bids me seek His face,
Believe His Word, and trust His grace,
I’ll cast on Him my ev’ry care,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer.

3. Sweet hour of prayer, sweet hour of prayer,
May I thy consolation share,
Till from Mount Pisgah’s lofty height
I view my home and take my flight;
This robe of flesh I’ll drop, and rise
To seize the everlasting prize,
And shout, while passing thru the air,
“Farewell, farewell sweet hour of prayer!”

1. My Father, give me strength to mount up with wings into Your presence, in the mighty name of Jesus.
2. Household wickedness, working against me, backfire, in the name of Jesus.
3. Every dark tongue speaking against me, dry up, in the name of Jesus.

4. I arise above the limitation of my ancestral bloodline, in the name of Jesus.
5. O God, arise and make me a ministerial giant, in the name of Jesus.
6. I reject mediocrity in my Christian walk, in the name of Jesus.
7. Powers making mockery of my salvation, die, in the name of Jesus.
