MFM Daily Devotional 9 December 2021

Our devotional today is the continuation of who the Holy Spirit is. Yesterday we learnt that Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead and that He is a person and not a thing or an ordinary influence. The Holy Spirit is also the believer’s sanctifier. The Bible says you are sanctified and justified by the Spirit of God (1 Cor. 6:11). The Holy Spirit is the one that makes you to be closer to Christ (2 Cor. 3:18).

The glory that the Holy Spirit imparts into you is more excellent and lasts longer. As your knowledge deepens, the Holy Spirit will help you to change and become Christ-like. The Holy Spirit is the One that will help you to do the will of the Father. In Acts 8:29, Philip found the Ethiopian eunuch and through the leading of the Holy Spirit, he was able to convert the man to Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit is the giver of gifts. Ask Him to baptise you with His gifts (1 Cor. 12:4-11). He will give you hope (Rom. 15:13). He will guide you in prayer so that you will not pray amiss (Rom 8:26). When you don’t know the right words to pray, the Holy Spirit prays with you and for you and God will answer. Ask the Holy Spirit to plead for you according to the will of God. Bring your requests to God; trust that He will always do what is best.

The Acts of Apostles is replete with the wonderful works of the Holy Spirit through chosen vessels of God. It was the Holy Spirit that enabled Stephen to do great wonders and miracles among the people (Acts 6:8). The same Holy Spirit empowered Philip to preach Christ, win souls and perform miracles in Samaria, so much that there was great joy in the city (Acts 8: 5-8).

It was the Holy Spirit that made the shadow of Peter so anointed that it ministered healing to the sick (Acts 5:15-16) and the apron from the body of Apostle Paul also administered healing (Acts 19:11-12 ). Beloved, the same Holy Spirit is willing to overshadow you and turn you to a new man or woman. Are you ready and willing?

Motivational Quote
The work of the Holy Spirit is to impart life to implant hope, to give liberty, to testify of Christ and to guide us into the truth.

Prophetic Word
You will encounter the Holy Spirit in a new way and become a new person to the glory of God, in the name of Jesus.

HYMN: Breathe on me, Breath of God

1. Breathe on me, Breath of God,
Fill me with life anew,
That I may love what Thou dost love,
And do what Thou wouldst do

2. Breathe on me, Breath of God,
Until my heart is pure,
Until my will is one with Thine,
To do and to endure.

3. Breathe on me, Breath of God,
Till I am wholly Thine,
Till all this earthly part of me
Glows with Thy fire divine.

4. Breathe on me, Breath of God,
So shall I never die,
But live with Thee the perfect life of
Thine eternity
