TOPIC: Unbridged Access

TEXT:  Psalm 15: 1 – 5
Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

KEY VERSE
“He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.”

Psalm 15:5

DCLM Daily Manna Saturday 20 Jan 2024 Message

Having unabridged access to God means having an intimate, unstoppable fellowship with Him. It implies that there is no cause for God to withdraw His presence and fellowship from us as result of any act of unrighteousness. Very few people in the world can boast of having such an uncommon privilege.

This psalm shows us the way to God and the way of happiness. It also reveals to us what our relationship with fellow Christians and neighbours should be. The questions asked in the psalm direct us on the proper way of pleasing God. If we have the right answers to these questions, we will be able to direct our ways and our walk before God intimately. The close of the psalm gives us an assurance of happiness and peace, which we will have as we fulfil the mind of God in all ramifications. We will have clear conscience and unabridged access to the throne of grace.

Someone who abides in His holy tabernacle and walks uprightly, enjoys a special relationship with God. Such a person walks consistently with Him. He is true and without blemish. He is honest and just in all his dealings, and faithful and fair to all he deals with. This type of person speaks the truth in his dealings with fellow men. He does no evil to neighbours and seeks no evil for anyone. He is not unjust in dealings nor does he succumb to bribery and prejudice to subvert a righteous cause.

Every believer should always strive to have this kind of access before God. This will guarantee daily victory over sin and the world. It gives assurance of eventual access to the holy hills of the Lord on the final day.
