𝕋𝕆ℙ𝕀ℂ: 𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐓𝐎 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏 𝐆𝐎𝐃 𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐄𝐏𝐓𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐘

FIRE SCRIPTURE: John 4:5-26
5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)

Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:

18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”

MFM Daily Devotional 2 January 2024 MESSAGE

One timeless truth that every Christian should know is that worship is central to our existence and relationship with God, our Creator. He loves and rewards worship and we need to make it our preoccupation on earth, just as the spirit beings in heaven do.

Since many believers miss out on the blessings attached to worship because they know very little about what it is and how it is done, today, we will turn our attention to learning how to worship God, using the Holy Bible as our guide. I have the strong conviction that once our knowledge as to how to worship God correctly is increased and enriched, we will access more of His blessings and our lives will fully show forth His glory.

READ MFM Daily Devotional 1 January 2024 – Worship The Lord

The Bible tells us to worship the Lord in spirit and truth (John 4:23), through the Bible (John 4:23), through prayer (Psalm 141:2), through thanksgiving (Hebrew 13:15), through worship (Psalm 104: 33), through remembrance (Psalm 103:2), through your testimony and witnessing (Acts 1:8, Psalm 150:2), through serving others (Mark 10:44-45, 1 Peter 4:10, Galatians 5:13), through your words.

Let your words bring glory to God (Colossians 3:17, Psalm 71:18), through marvelling at God’s creation (Psalm 19:1), through body expression such as lifting hands (Psalm 141:2), clapping hands (Psalm 47:1), bowing down (Psalm 95:6), dancing (Psalm 149:3).

The Bible says that our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit and we should glorify God with our bodies (I Corinthians 6:19-20 and Romans 12:1), through memorizing the Bible (Proverbs 3:1, Psalm 1:2), through confession of sins (I John 1:9), through obedience (John 14-15), through giving (2 Corinthians 9:7), through fellowship and serving the church community (Colossians 3:16), through work (Colossians 3:23-24), through your life (1 Corinthians 10:31), by sharing your faith (1 Peter 2:9), by using your gifts and talents for Him (Exodus 35:35), with humility (James 4:10), with joy (Philippians 4:4), with reverence and awe. On this, Hebrews 12:28 says, “Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.”

Beloved, make the worship of God your priority and preoccupation this year.
