MFM Daily Devotional 3 October 2023 MESSAGE

The second human role is to call on God for help or intervention. The blind men cried to Jesus for help and got it. In John 2. Jesus was invited to the wedding at Cana of Galilee. When they ran out of wine, the solution-seeking celebrant approached Mary, the mother of Jesus and later Jesus Himself was informed. Similarly, when Lazarus was sick in John 11, his sisters, Mary and Martha sent for Jesus. An English proverb says that a squeaky hinge gets the grease, Truly, a closed mouth is a closed destiny. By calling for Jesus’ help, both the wedding host and Lazarus’ sisters got their respective miracles. The Bible says, “Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee and thou will glorify my name” (Psalm 50:15). It means that if you do not call on God, you may not get your desired deliverance or solution.

The third part you need to play to get the miraculous is to obey God’s instruction conceming the matter. Your obedience should be prompt, unquestioning and complete. Obedience has great reward. It opens the door of the supernatural and releases its blessings. In John 2:1-11. Jesus was a guest at a wedding in Cana, Galilee. The wine ran out and the solution-seeking celebrant approached Mary, Jesus’ mother and then Jesus. The Lord gave an instruction, “Fill the waterpots with water.” The Bible affirms that the people filled them to the brim.

That was when the supernatural stepped in and the water turned to wine to the amazement of the governor of the feast who tasted and attested to its superior quality. At the tomb of Lazarus, Jesus’ simple instruction was, “Take ye away the stone.” That was a human role. Thank God that the people obeyed Him. He then raised His eyes to heaven, thanked and prayed to His Father. Then He cried out with a loud voice. “Lazarus, come forth!” The Bible says that he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes and his face was bound with a napkin. Jesus also commanded them to loose him and let him go.
Obedience to Jesus’ instruction released supernatural grace and power that raised Lazarus from the dead. Indeed, obedience is better than sacrifice and hearkening than the fat of lambs.
