Topic: Confession of sin 1: You Are The Lord God

Opening Prayer: Lord, I pray that you lead me into your truth as I meditate on your word in Jesus name.

Scripture: Nehemiah 9: 1-15

Question(s) for Reflection
• What does the passage teach about God the Father, God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?

• Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?

Separation from foreigners (v.2): This could imply the renouncing of all fellowship with non-Israelites, especially dissolving marriages with foreign wives, a reformation that had been started by Ezra (10:3), and which Nehemiah would still later have to deal with (13:23-30). The conviction to do so could have arisen from the consistent reading of the Law. ? Actual confession of sins and worshiping the Lord (v.2):

We shall look at this in details tomorrow. ? Reading of the Law (v.3): Notice the amount of time spent on this aspect. ? Praise to the Lord God (vs.5-15): Notice the content of their praise. They not only exalted God’s glorious name (v.6) but praised Him for His past dealings with them (vs.7-15).
