Beloved, as you continue in the journey of this year, it is worthy to mention that you will encounter different types of seasons and times according to Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, which makes us to understand that, to everything, there is a time and season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. We, as humans, feel pains but we need to pray for the grace of God to be able to stand.

Job 14:1-2 says, “A man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of troubles.” The way you handle difficult moments will determine your success or movement to the next level, as you continue in this glorious year. If you handle it badly, it might cost you the good promises of God for your life but if you go through it with the word of God, you shall come out victorious.

2 Corinthians 4:17 says that our light affliction, which is for a moment, worketh for us eternal weight of glory. Hebrews 10:36 adds that we need patience after we have done the WILL of God for the promise to come to pass. (MFM Daily Devotional | 18 February 2022 Mountain Top Life)

At the height of discouragement, you can begin to help the devil to do his work and might be taking wrong decisions. You might get to a point that you will begin to hinder God’s work and promises for your life.

In 1 Samuel 30:6, which is our Fire Scripture, we read that David was greatly distressed, but he encouraged himself in the Lord and he was able to pursue, overtake and recover all that were taken from him. I pray that as you continue your journey this year, you will be empowered to recover all you have lost in the past years due to discouragement, in the name of Jesus.

Discouragement is a potent spiritual weapon used by satan against the children of God. It makes the work of God to be slow and sluggish; it even causes some believers to backslide.

However, there are tested and proven antidotes to discouragement. The first is reading the word of God and claiming the precious promises of our never failing God. The second is living a prayerful life. The Bible says that we should pray without ceasing.

Prayer will drive away the spirit of discouragement and fill you with courage, hope and joy. Another important antidote to discouragement is giving high quality praise and worship to God regularly. Beloved, I advise you to give no place to discouragement in your life.
